About JOY
JOY was established for youth ages 7-12 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Bethesda, Maryland in 1994. Across the country, one of the newest and fastest growing areas of youth ministry is one encompassing elementary age children. Until recently this was largely ignored, with Youth Ministry most often being defined as ministry to teenagers and young adults.
JOY's mission is to provide an opportunity for JOY-aged children at St. George to socialize and have fun. JOY is run by many dedicated parents volunteering their time to ensure the children of St. George have an enriching experience through a variety of activities and events.
